A teacher sacrifices her scooter to allow a sparrow to hatch her chicks !

கூடுகட்டி முட்டையிட்டு குஞ்சு பொரித்துள்ள குருவிக்காக ஸ்கூட்டரை தியாகம் செய்த ஆசிரியை.

Near Sathiyamangalam in a scooter a sparrow had built a nest and hatched her chicks. Due to this, the family had decided to wait till the chicks grow and fly away.
         
சத்தியமங்கலம் அருகே சிட்டுக்குருவி கூடுகட்டி குஞ்சு பொரித்ததால் ஸ்கூட்டரை எடுக்காமல் அப்படியே விட்ட தம்பதி, ‘குஞ்சுகள் பறந்துசெல்லும் வரை ஸ்கூட்டரை எடுக்காமல் காத்திருப்போம்‘ என்றனர்.

Mahendran of Ariyampalayam is a lorry owner. Savitha is his wife. She had worked as a teacher in a private school.

ஈரோடு மாவட்டம் சத்தியமங்கலம் அருகே உள்ள அரியப்பம்பாளையத்தை சேர்ந்தவர் மகேந்திரன் (வயது 35). லாரி உரிமையாளர். அவருடைய மனைவி சவீதா (32). அவர் ஒரு தனியார் பள்ளியில் ஆசிரியையாக முன்பு வேலை பார்த்தார்.

Last month on 27th. he and his wife had parked their scooter in their house and went out of station in a car.

கடந்த மாதம் 27-ந் தேதி ஸ்கூட்டரை வீட்டுக்குள் நிறுத்திவிட்டு மகேந்திரன் குடும்பத்துடன் காரில் வெளியூர்  சென்றுவிட்டார்.

On 29th they returned to their house. Then when she to take her scooter she noticed that in the front portion of her scooter, where we carry things, a sparrow had built a nest.

உறவினர் வீட்டில் இருந்து 29-ந் தேதி வீட்டுக்கு திரும்பினார்கள். பிறகு  சவீதா ஸ்கூட்டரை எடுக்க சென்றார். அப்போது வண்டியின் முன்பகுதியில் பொருட்கள் வைக்கும் பொந்துபோன்ற இடத்தில் சிட்டுக்குருவி ஒன்று கூடு கட்டியிருந்தது.

Immediately she called her husband and son and showed that. They were all happy and decided not to disturb the nest. They didnot use the scooter and left it where it was.

உடனே தன்னுடைய கணவரையும், மகனையும் அழைத்து அதை காண்பித்தார். மகிழ்ச்சி அடைந்த 3 பேரும் கூட்டை கலைக்க வேண்டாம் என்று முடிவு செய்து, ஸ்கூட்டரை அசைக்காமல் அதே இடத்தில் விட்டுவிட்டார்கள்.

After two days Savitha saw that the bird had gone away searching for some food. She also noticed that there were 3 eggs in the nest.  She became happier due to this and never attempted to disturb the scooter.

இதற்கிடையே 2 நாட்கள் கழித்து சவீதா கூட்டை பார்த்தபோது, குருவி எங்கோ இரைதேட சென்றிருந்தது. ஆனால் கூட்டுக்குள் 3 முட்டைகள் இருந்தன. இதனால் மேலும் மகிழ்ச்சி அடைந்த சவீதா ஸ்கூட்டரை சிறிது கூட அசைக்காமல் பார்த்துக்கொண்டார்.

Every day the bird will come and sit on the eggs. Day before yesterday three beautiful chick hatched from the eggs.

நாள்தோறும் குருவி வருவதும், கூட்டில் முட்டையை அடை காப்பதுமாக இருந்தது. இந்தநிலையில் நேற்று முன்தினம் அழகான 3 குஞ்சுகளை தாய் குருவி பொரித்தது.

Savitha 's family was enthralled by observing the activities of the sparrows. They told that until the chicks grow bigger and the mother birds takes them away, we will not disturb the scooter.

தாய் குருவியையும், குஞ்சுகளையும் பார்த்து பார்த்து மகிழ்ச்சி அடைந்த சவீதா குடும்பத்தார். ‘குஞ்சுகள் பெரியதாகி தாய் குருவி அவைகளை அழைத்துக்கொண்டு பறந்து செல்லும் வரை ஸ்கூட்டரை எடுக்காமல் அப்படியே விட்டுவிடுவோம்‘ என்றார்கள்.

In the meantime, the mother bird brings some food in its beak and feeds the chicks.

இதற்கிடையே தாய் குருவி இரையுடன் வந்து, தன்னுடைய அலகில் இருந்து குஞ்சுகளின் அலகில் ஊட்டுகிறது.

At that time, another bird also comes along. It may be the father bird. The neighbours visit their house to watch the birds.

அப்போது மற்றொரு குருவியும் உடன் வருகிறது அது தந்தை குருவியாக இருக்கலாம். இந்த காட்சிகளை அக்கம் பக்கத்தினர் வந்து பார்த்து செல்கிறார்கள்.

In history we have read about a king called PAARI VALLAL. He had sacrificed his chariot for a plant to spread its vine or branches. Like PAARI VALLAL, the name of this teacher, who had also sacrificed her scooter for the birds, is yet to enter the history books.

முல்லை கொடி படர்ந்ததால் தேரை தெருவில் விட்டுவிட்டு அரண்மனைக்கு வந்த பாரி வள்ளலை பற்றி வரலாற்றில் படித்திருப்போம். ஆனால் இந்த காலத்திலும் சவீதா குடும்பத்தாரை போன்ற பாரிகள் வரலாற்றுக்குள் வராமல் இருக்கத்தான் செய்கிறார்கள்.

Presently when the high cell phone towers that we see everywhere are making extinct the sparrows. Yet there are people like Savitha who protects the chicks that had hatched in her scooter.

ஆங்காங்கே வானளாவிய உயரத்தில் நிற்கும் செல்போன் கோபுரங்களால் சிட்டுக்குருவிகள் அழிந்து வரும் நிலையில் ஓடும் ஸ்கூட்டரில் கூடுகட்டி குஞ்சு பொரித்த சிட்டுக்குருவியை பாதுகாக்கும் சவீதா .
