WHAT MOTIVATED ME TO DO THIS JOB?
Near my house there is a vegetables market. On auspicious days like VINAYAGAR CHATHURTHI and on BIRTHDAYs of political leaders they will collect money from all and arrange celebrations. Statues and pandals will be erected. Songs will be played in loud speakers throughout the day.
After a customary 5 or 6 religious songs, all types of cinema songs will be played. However, it will seem absurd to hear songs like -- "kalyanam than kattikitu odipolama? Ella odipoi kalyanam than katikilama?" ....blaring in loud speakers on the sacred VINAYAGAR CHATHURTHI day. I used to wonder will not somebody take steps to prevent the malpractice.
Our Hindu forefathers were so intelligent. Thousands of years ago they have built such massive structures with unimaginable degrees of accuracy. And of course, without using any of the modern gadget. They used only one supreme SOFTWARE ... ya, their brains.
Over centuries they have conceived and created many religious customs and practices. But we don't seem to understand the intricacies or embedded science in our religious practices. I feel that we blindly follow the customs and left the real purpose of performing them to fly in the wind.
Anyway, instead of blaming things, like our Hindu scholar and orator SUKI SIVAM said,
I have decided to do something towards this.
Yes, I want to do something really constructive to remove the anomaly.
I am going to prepare a big list of good cinema Tamil songs. Songs that will teach good things to the school going children and grownups too.
It is my dream that the Tamil Nadu government should put an order to compulsorily play them in ANNUAL DAY FUNCTIONS in the schools (At least 50%).
