Manjapai (Yellow Bag) is a 2014 Indian Tamil-language comedy drama film written and directed by N. Ragavan.
'மஞ்சப் பை" ஒரு 2014 ஆம் ஆண்டு இந்திய தமிழ் மொழி நகைச்சுவை படம். இதை எழுதி டைரக்ட் செய்தவர் N. ராகவன்.
The movie was a surprise hit at the box office.
இந்த படத்திற்கு பண வசூலில் பெரும் வெற்றி கிடைத்தது.
plot / story : The film starts with Tamil (Vimal) who is raised single-handedly by his grandfather, Venkatasamy (Raj Kiran) in a village.
கதை: ஒரு கிராமத்தில் தாத்தா, வெங்கடசாமி (ராஜ் கிரான்) தமிழை (விமல்) தனி ஆளாகவே வளர்ப்பதாக படம் தொடங்குகிறது.
25 years later the boy is working in a Chennai-based IT company. He is staying in a modern apartment.
25 ஆண்டுகளுக்கு பின்னர் அந்த சிறுவன் சென்னையில் ஒரு கம்ப்யூட்டர் (IT) நிறுவனத்தில் பணிபுரிகிறார். அவர் ஒரு நவீன குடியிருப்பில் தங்கியிருக்கிறார்.
"Tamil" meets Karthika (Lakshmi Menon) a medical student using tricks to get to the front of the traffic signal.
போக்குவரத்து சிக்னலில் வண்டியை முன்னே கொண்டுவர கார்த்திகா (லஷ்மி மேனன்) என்ற ஒரு மருத்துவ மாணவி சில தந்திரங்களை கையாள்கிறார்.
தமிழ் அப்போது அவரை பார்க்கிறார்.
They fall in love at first sight. Due to this, they don't realise that the traffic signal had changed to green.
அவர்கள் முதல் பார்வையிலேயே காதலில் விழுகிறார்கள். இதன் காரணமாக, போக்குவரத்து சிக்னல் விளக்கு "பச்சையாக" மாற்றியதை அவர்கள் உணரவில்லை.
Karthika tricks the police officer and gets away with it. This attracts Tamil toward Karthika.

He follows her and in no time she also responds well.

Meanwhile, "Tamil" is selected to go to U.S. in a three-month project.

He brings his grand father, Venkatasamy to the city.
அவர் தனது தாத்தா, வெங்கடசாமியை நகரத்திற்கு அழைத்து வருகிறார்.
He wanted to spend "quality time" before he leaves for U.S.
அமெரிக்கா போவதற்கு முன்னால் தன்னுடைய தாத்தாவுடன் தங்கி மகிழ்ச்சியாக நேரத்தை செலவழிக்க விரும்புகிறார்.
Venkatasamy, coming from a rustic background, is unfamiliar with the urban lifestyle.
வெங்கடசாமி, ஒரு பழமையான பின்னணியில் இருந்து வரும் நபர். நகர்ப்புற வாழ்க்கை முறை அவருக்கு துளியும் அறிமுகமில்லாத ஒன்று.
He even bathes and washes his clothes at a fountain.
அவர் அங்கு இருக்கும் ஒரு செயற்கை நீரூற்றில் குளிக்கிறார் மற்றும் தனது துணிகளை அங்கேயே துவைக்கவும் செய்கிறார்.
This causes much embarrassment to Tamil. But he does not share it with grand father, Venkatasamy.

Venkatasamy was angry with him for allowing his daughter wear short clothes in public.
அவருடைய மகள் பொது இடத்தில் குறுகிய துணிகளை அணிய அவர் அனுமதி கொடுத்ததால், அவர் மேல் கோபப்படு இதை செய்து விடுகிறார் வெங்கடசாமி.
Tamil pleads with Karthika and finally she forgives him.
கார்த்திகாவுடன் தமிழ் மன்றாடுகிறார். இறுதியாக அவரை மன்னிக்கிறார், கார்த்திகா.
"Tamil" spends many a sleepless night working hard on a project on his laptop.
தூக்கமில்லாத பல இரவுகளை செலவழித்து, "தமிழ்" அவரது லேப்டாப்பில் (மடிக்கணினியில்) ஒரு சாப்ட்வேர் பிராஜெக்டில் கடினமாக வேலை செய்கிறார்.
Venkatasamy assumes the laptop to be a sandwich grill.
வெங்கடசாமி "லேப் டாப்" ~ஐ ரொட்டி சுடும் அடுப்பு என்று கருதுகிறார்.
And without knowing how to use it, he puts it on the stove. This causes the laptop to explode into pieces.
அதை எவ்வாறு பயன்படுத்துவது என்று தெரியாமல், அவர் அதை அடுப்பில் வைத்துவிடுகிறார். இதில் மடிக்கணினி வெடித்து துண்டு துண்டாக சிதறுகிறது.
Thus it destroyed the project work done by Tamil.
இதனால் "தமிழ்" உருவாக்கிய சாப்ட்வேர் பிராஜெட் அழிந்து போய் விடுகிறது.
As a result, Tamil gets fired from his job.
இதன் விளைவாக, தமிழ் தனது வேலையில் இருந்து வெளியேற்றப்படுகிறார்.
But he hides his anger and frustration from Venkatasamy.
ஆனால் அவர் வெங்கடசாமியிடம் இருந்து தனது கோபத்தையும் ஏமாற்றத்தையும் மறைத்து விடுகிறார்.
Karthika motivates Tamil to complete the project on her computer.

The old man feels really guilty for destroying the laptop.
"லேப் டாப்" ~ஐ பாழ்படுத்தி விட்டோமே என்று பெரியவர் குற்ற உணர்வில் இருக்கிறார்.
So he buys him a new laptop by selling his ancestral and invaluable wedding ring.
எனவே அவர் தனது மூதாதையர் கொடுத்த விலைமதிப்பற்ற திருமண மோதிரத்தை விற்பனை செய்து, அந்த பணத்தில் ஒரு புதிய மடிக்கணினியை வாங்கி "தமிழுக்கு" கொடுக்கிறார்.
"Tamil" thanks his grandfather and starts working on the project. He successfully finishes the project and gets his job back.
"தமிழ்" அவரது தாத்தாவிற்கு நன்றி கூறுகிறார். பிறகு அதில் தன்னுடைய வேலை செய்ய தொடங்குகிறார்.
அவர் வெற்றிகரமாக தன்னுடைய சாப்ட்வேர் பிராஜெக்டை முடித்து, தனது வேலையை மீண்டும் பெறுகிறார்.
Meanwhile, the old man helps a couple elope and get them married the same way he did with Tamil's parents.
இதற்கிடையில், பெரியவர் வீட்டை விட்டு வெளியேறிய ஒரு காதல் தம்பதியருக்கு திருமணம் செய்து கொள்ள உதவுகிறார். அப்படி தான் அவர் "தமிழின்" பெற்றோருக்கும் திருமணம் செய்து வைத்தார்.
At the U.S. EMBASSY, "Tamil" is leaving to attend an interview to go to the US.
அமெரிக்க தூதரகத்தில், "தமிழ்" அமெரிக்காவிற்கு செல்ல ஒரு நேர்காணலில் கலந்து கொள்வதற்காக செல்கிறார்கள்.
There Venkatasamy mocks at the U.S. flag and thinks that the whites are conquering India again.
அங்கு வெங்கடசாமி அமெரிக்க கொடியை அவமதிக்கிறார்.
மேலும் வெள்ளையர்கள் மீண்டும் இந்தியாவை கைப்பற்ற முயற்சி செய்கிறார்கள் என்று நினைக்கிறார்.
He creates a nuisance and both of them are arrested.

When they come out, "Tamil" attends a second interview.

But his Visa gets rejected and the officer scolds his grandfather amidst a large crowd in public.

Pooja (Darshini) a small girl wrongly eats a poison mixed sweet.

She thinks that it was the sweet that the old man gave her.
பெரியவர் அவளுக்கு கொடுத்த இனிப்பு தான் அது என்று அவள் தவறாக நினைத்துக் கொள்கிறாள்.
She faints after eating it. She was taken to the hospital.
அதை சாப்பிட்ட பிறகு அவள் மயக்கமடைகிறாள். அவளை மருத்துவமனையிற்கு எடுத்து செல்கிறார்கள்.
And the old man was scolded in public for the second time by the girl's parents.
இரண்டாவது முறையாக பெரியவரை பொதுமக்கள் முன்நிலையில், அந்த சிறுமியின்
பெற்றோர்கள் திட்டுகிறார்கள்.
However, they discover that the girl is cured because of what the old man did.
எனினும், பெரியவர் செய்த காரியத்தால் தான் சிறுமி உயிர் பிழைத்தார் என்று பிறகு தெரிய வருகிறது.
He made the girl drink a mixture of salt and tamarind water before she was taken to the hospital.
அவர் மருத்துவமனைக்கு எடுத்துச் செல்வதற்கு முன்னர், உப்பும் புளியும் சேர்ந்த கரைச்கல் தண்ணீரை தயார் செய்து, அச் சிறுமியை குடிக்க வைத்துள்ளார்.
This made her to vomit and get rid of ingested poison in the body.
இது அவளை வாந்தியெடுக்கவும் உடலில் உட்கொண்ட விஷத்தை அகற்றவும் உதவி உள்ளது.
Everyone wants to apologise and thank the old man.
எல்லோரும் அவரிடம் மன்னிப்பு கேட்கவும் நன்றி கூறவும் பெரியவரை தேடுகிறார்கள்.
But he goes missing and everyone starts to search for him.
ஆனால் அவர் காணாமல் போய்விடுகிறார், அனைவருக்கும் அவரைத் தேடுகிறார்கள்.
The old man is finally located but in a mentally challenged state.
இறுதியாக பெரியவரை கண்டுபிடித்து விடுகிறார்கள். ஆனால் அவர் மனநிலை பாதிக்கப்பட்ட நிலையில் உள்ளார்.
The film ends with "Tamil" regretting scolding his grandfather and crying while hugging him tightly.
தன் தாத்தாவை திட்டியதற்கு வருந்துகிறார் "தமிழ்". "தமிழ்" தனது தாத்தாவை அழுதுக் கொண்டே இறுக்கமாக அணைத்துக்கொள்வதில்
முடிகிறது திரைப்படம்.
